i also have another questiont hat isnt related, how do i make it so everytime i open regedit, instead of the file tree already being expnaded to wherei was before, when i open it the file tree is completely collapsed i know i ahave seen this tweak out there i just cant seem to find it again

I am still looking for a simple way to collapse the registry when reopened.
Let you know if I find a way.
At least for Windows XP regedit and regedt32 you can double click on the outermost (left side) vertical dotted line and this will collapse the entire tree.
Pretty cool.
ok well no wi think i know how the icon got there, but how do i get to NOT be there?
and i know there is a tweak that collapses the tree each time regedit is reopened because i have had it before but i cant find it since i reformatted
To get rid of the unwanted entry in the Start Menu:
Right click on the Start button, go to Properties, then the Customize button on the Start Menu tab, then to the Advanced tab. Scroll through that list to see if "set prgram access and defaults" is listed as one of the entries which can be unchecked...which will remove it from the start menu.
haha duh it was there and i unchecked it lol thanx i feel stupid now
anybody know of that registry tweak thing?
thanx again
