Webcam picture

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I got a quick ?? about my webcam's picture. It's a Logitech Clicksmart 310 USB cam. When I was IMing with my friend in MSN Messenger 6, I noticed that my picture was backwards, like a mirror. But he says my picture looks forward to him. I flipped the picture so it was forward to me, but then it looked backwards to him. Is this normal, or peculiar to Logitech?

I have a Clicksmart 510,What you see in your window,is what they should be seeing.I do know there is a "Mirror" function in the cameras software,is this how your flipping the image?

I turned on mirror horizontal to make my pic forward, but then it was backwards for him.
