[RESOLVED] Spam
Hi
I thought members may be interested in this:
http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/execmail/
Over the last few days I've been bombarded with emails for cheap medicines/diets (I don't need any medicine at this moment in time and I'm not fat). They just don't seem to stop. I am with aol and I keep forwarding these to them but to date nothing has happened except for an email thanking me for reporting the spam.
I would really appreciate any advice on how to stop this.
The original sender is sending it to another aol member who I don't know and I am unable to think of any reason as to why this member should have my email address. Therefore I don't know how it is being distributed. I can only think that that the other aol member has disclosed his/her password or he/she has a virus they don't know about.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

AOL is almost as notorious as Hotmail when it comes to spam. A lot of the guys and gals round here seem to like Mailwasher. I've been very fortunate with regard to spam so I've never had to use it, but it has a good reputation.

Hi Supersparks
Thanks again.

TJolly--follow this link and you may find help if you are using OE:
http://forums.techguy.org/showthread...985#post947985
I set up my OE5.5 and used it just one day--today, Sunday. It stopped the one piece of email that my address book did not have the sender's address. OE automatically put the email into a folder I created in OE. Oddly enough, this email was a newsletter I receive but it's sender's address is NOT in my OE address book.
So far as I am concerned, this method works. Hope it continues!!

Hi everyone
Thanks for the replies.
Just installed aol8 and that has appeared to have stopped it with aol's new add-ons.
Thanks again

TJolly, thanks for letting us know. Now you have two avenues of relief.
SuperSparks, I have my hotmail account set up in such a way that I get absolutely NO spam anymore. Use to get quiet a few. Now with OE "fixed", I hope spam is a former pain in the ....
