Hi.. well the question is this.. I need to send and recieve some important faxes and need some basic instructions on how to set this up.
My main questions are ..do I have to be connected to the net?
If I only have one phone line...what number do I use ?
Any help would be most appreciated as I have always found solutions to my queries here !
Thanks in anticipation!:)

You don't need to be connected to the internet. If you only have one phone line then of course you'll have to use that line.
Make sure that the Fax component is installed, go to
"Start">"All Programs">"Accessories">"Communications"
If Fax services is not listed/installed (it is not installed by default), go to the ADD/REMOVE Programs feature in the control panel and select Add/remove Windows Components, follow the wizard to add the fax services component.
Another way to add fax capabilities to Windows XP is to open the Printers And Faxes folder and click the Set Up Faxing link under Printer Tasks.
**Have your Win XP CD handy
The following link will help you use the fax feature:

Good luck, please post back results. :)
