It doesn't have an email scanner like Norton, but its memory scanner practically does the same thing. It's caught every virus infected email I've gotten.
IMHO,,The "editor" of that article needs to get a' life! Looks to me like a write-up to justify his existence to his boss! They downgrade it because it doesn't have a "firewall"?? And say the interface is hard to use?? Of course it doesn't have a firewall,,it's an antivirus program ! :p And for pete's sake! A six year old could figure out the "interface"!! And out of 21 reviews only 1 gave it a "thumbs down" and that was because they were pushing McCrappy!?
Well,,it's not worth wasting any more time talkin' about that junk! Nuff said...
CNET does seem to be a bit pro-McAfee lately, don't they?
I'm also disappointed that Dell is pushing McAfee with their new computers...
Better to have McAfee than no protection at all though and supposedly the new McAfee 7.0 works good with WINXP....
But I still have no desire to put ANYTHING made by McAfee on my computer....once was enough for me. :p
Yeah,,and if you've noticed the TV ads lately for M$N 8.0(oh yes ,just got to have my "butterfly" :p ). When it shows a shot of it's web page, there it is in big, bold,RED . Mcafee anti virus!
It follows with M$ having it's fingers into many PC Mfg's that it would push a program that it has $$ invested in(or unknown to many that they "own" it) to install the software whether the "end user" likes it or not.
People have their preferences, but mine is that nothing McAfee will ever be installed on a PC i own...:D
The butterfly dude is even worse than the Dell dude....
I don't even look at the commercials due to ad nauseum...
I also have a HOTMAIL account and I must admit the McAfee version on the MSN server seems to do a good job...of course the corporate version of McAfee on MSN has no need to invade and bloat individual personal computers as McAfee 4.0 and its offspring seemed to do.
