Dot matrix printer

why would my dot matrix printer print strange characters through the print job??

I'm no expert, but I think a driver problem would do it. What started the problem? Is this something that happened when you first started to use the printer, or was it working okay and then began to malfunction? If it is a driver problem, you can probably download the proper driver from the mfr's website.

i have tried re-installing the drivers, and also updating them, the problem just started, i have been using the printer for a while now.

Sorry that didn't help. Have you (1) checked to be sure the cable connections are tight, and (2) run a self-test on the printer to be sure the printer itself is okay? I have no other ideas. I'm sure someone else will. Good luck.
