Windows 2000 boot image!
Ok this is a bit of a sticky suituation so if it violates the AUP can a mod please close it.
anyway with that said...
I have a compaq laptop come in for repair it has a windows 2000 license number printed on the side of it (the little sticker thing :))
but they dont have the restore disk for it and also i dont have a proper windows 2000 disk to hand so i can boot off it.
also the other problem with it is that it has a multibay (not hotswap able i dont think it is anyway) so i can only use the cdrom or floppies.
I have all four floppy disks here and a windows 2000 cd with the setup files on it but its not bootable.
so how do i make a bootable windows 2000 disk is there a boot image i can use then import into something like nero and add the setup files to it.
i have also seen info on streamlineing your windows service packs
into your windows installation and burning them to cd so that you have the service pack installed when you clean install windows
im not asking for any iso's or pirated software just a way of booting into windows setup if this violates the aup then im sorry and can this thread be close.
many thanx mike :)

I have done that move many times, always works great. Binks site is very good and has much information in it I find I will always go back to it from time to time for help with 2000/XP, you should book mark it if you haven't
