A Home Page of Favorites

Reading through this post I found a most interesting and appealing idea.

Although I have been somewhat active on this forum for sometime now I am embarrassed to admit I didn't take the time to add most of the more helpfull and information rich links to My Favorites. If you would care to share your technically related links I would be very gratefull.

Not sure what Excel has to do with the price of tea in China....
In you browser, IE I assume, click on 'file' then 'import/export'... right... o.k.. Export your favs to wherever... default is My Documents blah blah... anyway, export them. Will export as bookmark.htm(l)
Set that as your homepage, in Internet Options ya know??? You can also open that file in any webpage editor and twitch it here and there... questions????

Abhoth I don't particularly care what way I create the page. It is the idea of favourites as a home page I found intriguing. I posted because My Favorites list is somewhat lacking the technical areas. Now I could spend a month or so searching posts as far back as I can or I could simply ask if anyone would care to share.

Abhoth, I cant speak for Philgo, but I've used Excel in the past because of the sort feature.

Makes it so much easier to group your links in alphabetical order

And doing it the way I showed sorts in the order with folder breaks and makes it all a to z.... how the hell about that. Just trying to help... I use Excel for more complex calcs so why add the extra step. But, to each his own.

Well thanks for the suggestions on how to create a Home Page of Favorite Links. I will continue to bump this page on occasion so I can let all who are interested know how long it takes and eventually to share the final product with intested parties. I haven't counted all the links found yet but I would estimate between 200 - 300 and I've just reached the last post of new year's eve.

Thanks very much Dave. Its nice to know the spirit of this post isn't completely lost on everybody. ;) I will continue searching the history of VDr. A task much greater than I had originally expected. So far I have amassed VOLUMES as many of the links I have come accross have a list of links as well. I may have to do a rethink on my original organizational structure. Certainly has provided some interesting reading at points and on several posts has proved to be quite educational as well. :)

Some where, some forum or? I have seen scads of helpful links posted for anyone to copy and use. In fact, people were posting their favorite links and someone was going to make an ABC list of them and keep it updated. Sure would be helpful to all--and Dave, I saved your list. Thanks. Now I'll see if I can find that list on XYZ forum and if I do, I'll post here for all to share. I may have seen that on TSG forum.

Really nice page but it isn't a list of favorites but a good resource of Windows Tips. Definitely worth adding to the list of favorites. :)

Neat little program that will assist those without the necessary know-how to accomplish creating a Home page of favorites. Currently I have searched back as far as Sept. 2002 and I have come accross a few programs very much like it and a couple of others that will help organize the 300+ links I have acquired so far.
