Depends on whether it's single or dual ignition. Some ol' AMC's had six bangers with 12 sparky plugs too...Dangdest big ol' distributer "I" ever seen! :D :rolleyes: :D

Ya',,i know ,,i know,,there "are" dual ignition V-8's with only 8 plugs but what the hey,,set 'em out'ta time a' bit and go down a busy hill at rush hour in second gear with a hollowed-out glass pack and listen to the windows rattle...heh-heh(kids will be kids ya' know??):p

I just would like to see the coil for the AMC, as that must have been one small dwell, about 10 to 12 I am guessing.

...and how many mechanics does it take to screw in those plugs? J C :p

Whoops, forgot about dual point setups with one coil, dwell for each set would be higher. Only one mechanic, or they would be bumping heads.

Once upon a time in the distant past they made combustion engins to run on propane gas. They had dual ignition systems with two spark plugs per cyclinder. (if my memory serves) In my youth(also in the distant past) I drove a Euclid truck on a construction job equiped with this engine.

I'm going to do some research-back in a while.
