I was doing a fresh install of XP Pro over an old one and I guess I wasn't paying attention. I installed the new installation on my D: partition. Is there a way to get rid of the old install on C: and change the D: to C:?
Thanks

To change your C: and D: drives you can swap the master/slave or IDE 0 and IDE 1 arrangement. Usually the first drive on IDE 0 is the C: drive. Of course, if you mean you just want to reinstall over the C: installation, you can do that without swapping them. Just put the CD in and follow the bouncing ball, with c: in place this time.
There is no add/remove programs applet to let you remove windows. You have to do it the old fashioned way. If you don't need any of the data on the drive, I reccommend the 'format d:' . If you need the data, you should be able to delete everything in the windows root directory and escape with only a few straggler files, but I would advise backing up the data and formatting the drive anyway. That's a pretty big chunk of files to delete.
i would suggest a clean install on c: swapping them wont work properly
I agree. Too many issues, you need to reinstall XP.
Yeah, I kind of figured a reinstall would be the way to go. Oh well, no biggie. That's what I get for watching movies while trying to deal with computer issues! :-)
