I upgraded from win98 to xp and my Deskjet 697C will not work. I have deleted the old drivers and reinstalled the 697C driver but the printer will not respond. I turned off the computer and turned it back on as well. I have checked connections and they are fine. Port seems to be right as well. I need help!!!
Which drivers are you using? The instructions at HP say to use the ones on the XP disk not the ones on the disk that came with the printer. Install instructions here
I did delete the old drivers and I installed the drivers that came with XP on the XP disk. I have checked on my Control panel and everything seems to be fine. It shows the proper drivers and printer but the printer does not respond. I have checked cables again. I am at the end of my rope...
