Crashing all the time
Amd Athlon 850MHz
512mb ram
Xp Pro
Since instaling an extra 256 mb of ram and the new version of Windows Messenger ( version 5.0 (5.0.0540) the comp has just crashed and restarted without any error messages at all.
I am using Free Memory Pro and always have about 328mb free.
This has NEVER happened prior to the new memory(which is the same as I had before) so was wondering if the new Messenger might be the prob.
Any sugestions would be appreciated

Hi!
I am using the new messenger version, too, and I haven't faced any error since I downloaded it.
If Your comp restarts in this way very often that seems to be a very serius problem - as XP tends to be very stable...
However it happend few once or twice it isn't anything to woryy about much - some software running might cause it (check programs bu CTRL+ALT+DEL).
Hoever if it happens constantly I would suggest memory test:
Memory Tester
I tests all kind of memory. After downloading it formats 3,5" disk and You should change settings in BIOS to make comp boot from it. Then while runnung make only 1-loop test. The default setting is to make tests endlessly...
Write soon,

HI the program Stebel is talking about Doc memory is excellent for the purpose of checking your memory ,I have used it for some time. You can stop your computer from rebooting by disabling reboot on error in control panel system/ startup & recovery / turn off automatically reboot. You should get a BSOD and an error message. Give you a better idea of the problem, like stebel I suspect the memory upgrade, bad ram will do it.
