Tnx 4 d info...but what's the difference from the first IE6?
Does it fix issues associated with email in outlook express?
So far I haven't had any problems with IE6, only with express....
Outlook Express is a component of Internet Explorer.
I guess I didn't make myself clear enough.........yes, I know about outlook express being a component of Internet Explorer.......although, sometimes it doesn't mean everything is fixed........I have no problems with Explorer itself, and since it's a component of the package, you would think so, but there are only problems with outlook itself.......and your answer didn't answer my question, either.....did it fix any problems with outlook express also?.....or was this sp1 just an update to more problems?.......:D
If Outlook Express is a component of Internet Explorer, then obviously SP1 would fix any known problems in Outlook Express as well as Internet Explorer.
If you really want to know what the SP addresses , go to Microsoft's site and read about it.

yes, I could go to Micro$oft's website and read what they propose this update does, but I was asking in here because the thread was started here and was asking because I thought, someone had used it.........
Reading what M$ has to say, doesn't mean it works....:D
I downloaded and installed it today and I have not noticed any difference. It seems to be OK in all respects for both IE 6 and OE 6.
Installed IE 6, service pack1 and it somehow disabled my Microsoft Management Console. How do I reinstall the MMC?Thanks for any help!
I think I will just sit back and see what problems come up with it, and stick with 5.5 SP2. I can see one apparently did. Start a thread, burgert, you might get more replies to your question that way. You are hijacking this one, lol.
I held on to IE 5.5 SP2 for a long time, but recently upgraded to IE 6 SP1. Worked smoother than anything from M$ that I have seen in a long time...
In other words:
I Love it!
The cookie control feature alone is worth the step IMHO.
burgert...sorry...don't know anything about the mgmt console thing...
Been running IE6 on my Win98FE machine since it came out of beta last fall with no probs.
Just wiped and installed the same OS on my networked PC and loaded IE6. Saw the new version at the update site. Dn/loaded and installed it with no problems. Haven't had a chance to play with it much yet,but seems stable.
As K G G says,i've always liked the third party cookie blocking feature. Don't have so many to wipe out of my cookie folder when doing a cleanup...:)
I went to Windows Update Site, and then found that the IE6 SP1 is now a critical update for me. Maybe some others are getting this, too.
Sounds like everyone is in agreement, it's a good download.....NOT!! at least on my end.....I downloaded and tried to install it this morning.....got as far as installing components, installer said these components were not going to be installed because they are not windows xp compliant........and did not install the update........now what?
