Hi there,
Just a suggestion, can she download IE from the windows update site? - that way it will reinstate any problem files.

Thanks Virtual Patiant, Will ask her that. Not sure if she's on 56K or Cable..56K will take her for ages..if i can get her to do that then i can take her through the procedure of deleteing those nasty files...Cheers.

Hopefully, she has the setup files for her windows copied into her c:\windows\options\cabs. Most of those recovery disks do that. Have her run windows setup from there and reinstall windows on top of itself.

markp62, Thanks M8, I completely forgot about Windows\Cabs...
That will make it easier for her I reckon... cheers, catch you later...Dennis.

Have her look in C:\Windows Update Setup Files for the IE upgrade or the original IE she uses. Hit the IE Xsetup.eve [X = version number mine is 5] and install it from there. Have done it lots of times. Got tired of the long dialup download times.

Thanks Train, C:\Windows Update Setup Files is a new one on me..Not in WinME.....I'll ask her if she got that in Win98se..if so we give it a go... Will let ya all know how this works out...Thanks..Dennis

Follow WhitPhils instructions and burn it to a cd.
Stick it on another hdd, where ever so you do not have to download it again. :D
Helps .
EDIT: I have 98SE. Should have posted that above. :(
