Computer won't startup
I cannot get my children's computer to startup. We were installing a new program, Candyland, and at the end of the installation it said that we needed to reboot the computer. The computer turned off but wouldn't start again. I have tried turning all the power off and restarting and nothing happens. I took the Candyland CD up to my computer and did a Norton Virus check on it and it came up with no viruses. Norton is fully updated. The harddrive just doesn't seem to be turning, I checked inside the computer to make sure all the wires were still properly attached. Up till now there have been no problems with the computer.
It is a:
Pentium III 733mhz
Windows Millenium
128mb RAM
Thankyou for your time

do you get past the bios screen at least?
may sound silly... but check that the monitor is plugged in all the way in the back of the machine.
you said that the ide cable is connected to both the motherboard and the drive? and that pin orientation is correct?
you can also try unplugging the computer, turn it on, then off. let it sit for about five minutes. this is a power cycle. it will restart the pci bus. now plug the machine back in and try to boot up.
