Hi: Putting together my first custom computer and when down to 2 mobos noticed one is: VIA KT266A and the other: SIS 735.
Is there a practical difference. Will use with Athlon 1800XP.
Is one better or just a matter of choice, or should I not even consider it?
Just want to make sure I get things as compatible as possible.

Normally, the chip provides speed and functionality, and due to the high level of
processing tends to overheat, main reason why the manufacturer puts a heatsink over it, I personally add a fan to increase the useful life of the component.

State brand and model of the mobo.
Chipsets are important but how it is used by the mobo manufacturer is just as important.

Shinma....The sis was for ECS-K7S5A (Performance/ cost ratio = good.)
The KT 266A was for most all other boards I got from AMD recommendations.
