Try using msconfig:
1. Close all open programs.
2. Go to Start > RUN > (type) msconfig
3. Under the BOOT.INI tab check "/SAFEBOOT" and click OK.
4. When you see the prompt to restart the computer, click Restart. The computer will restart in Safe Mode (this can take several minutes).
5. Perform whatever troubleshooting steps for which you are using Safe Mode.
6. When you're finished with troubleshooting in Safe Mode repeat steps 1-4, but in step 3, uncheck "/SAFEBOOT".
7. Close all programs and restart the computer as you normally would.

Hi EARLE....Thanks m8...Just did it the way duane said
Only prob was that all those setups of share files on internet through ethernet were not there....(I'm all way upto Local Conection 9)--lol And each time i tried to delete 2 from 3 instances of my Ambit Modem it kept saying "cant delete as might be needed at Boot-Up" What a Load of BullOny....LOL
So i Dissabled em n then it let me delete in normall mode...
will ask in different thread about conecting two PCs for file shareing via Ethernet, cause i've tried so many times n failed...lol

Hi scarecrowdr,
Just curious about your problem networking your two computers.
How are you connecting them together?
If you are connecting them directly by ethernet cable instead of through a router or hub, then the cable needs to be a crossover cable. A regular ethernet cable will not work. Also make sure they are both given the same workgroup name.
XFX nForce 680iLT, Intel Core 2 Q6600 2.4GHz, Kentsfield Quad-Core CPU, 4x1G OCZ PC2 6400, XFX GeForce 8600GT Adapter, Realtek HD Audio, Vista Ultimate 64 SP1, SAMSUNG SP 1614C SATA 160GB, Seagate Barracuda SATA 300 320GB, Samsung SH-S162L DL DVD±RW/±R, ACER AL2216W 22" Monitor

Hi EARLE---Did not try shuting down first then restarting..Might give that a go soon....THANKS m8..
Hi fubar---
Cable is through NTL cable modem via usb---
Cross-Over Ethernet patch lead from NVidia nForce Networking Controller on new PC to a Linkseys Ethernet Card on second older PC...
Both Workgroup names were n probably still is---MSHome
Comp name on new pc is Dens Comp & on 2nd pc it's Dens Comp2
Nothing too technical!!..LOL...(will be changed if i get it to work)
The Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) properties I P Address was192.168.0.1 on the new pc & 192.168.0.2---It did conect both pc's but no files could be copied....was told that was wrong, so then changed the I P address to ---192.168.1.1 & 192.168.2.1
No Connection at all..In fact i tried about 9 to 10 times after with varying configs with no conection to internet on second pc..
Ended up with (Local Area Connection 9) on first pc & 3 on second...so got second to show 9 as well but still no go...Got Meself into a right Pickle in end...LOL
Been trying to see if I can Delete these conections in "Network Connections" in order to start clean, but it wont let me do so.....
I have now Pulled out the Crossover cable n said F****** it in frustration...So something that's supposed to be simple turned out to be a NightMare...lol..
Well thats it in a nutshell......THANKS..Dennis.

TURN OFF ALL SOFTWARE FIREWALLS ON BOTH PC'S AT THIS POINT (this is tempory) Especially Zonealarm
run the network setup wizard on PC1.. this is the one that connects to the internet via the cable modem, and pc2 connects to it..
this will enable ICS and you can share internet..
but on pc2 you only need to set it to "Obtain IP Address Automaticly" and "obtain DNS server address automaticly"
If all your doing is shareing files then any ip will do and solong as the subnet mask is correct, and you have folders available for sharing no problems.. BUT watch firwalls.. they can block your home network.. once you have your shares working, and then turn on your firewalls.. if it still works then connect to the net..
