Primary Hard Disk Drive 1 Not Found
When I turn on my computer, I get the message "primary hard disk drive 1 not found, strick f1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility.
I looked into the setup utility, but I'm not sure what the setting should be for the primary hard disk drive 1. I have a Dell System Dimension 8100 with a Phoenix Rom BIOS Plus version 1.10 A07 if that info helps.

Hi Ray's Tomato,
When did this problem happen ?? Were you doing anything to the PC ??
You should upgrade your BIOS . Version A09 is the lastest for non XP users .
Regarding your problem . Enter your BIOS menu by pressing F2 at startup . Check the following settings :
Option Function
Primary Hard Drive 0 Displays primary hard drive 0. The default is Auto.
Primary Hard Drive 1 Displays primary hard
drive 1 (if installed). The default is Off.
Make sure that Primary 0 is set for AUTO .
If that doesn't fix the problem you should open the PC and check that all your cables are securely connected .
Hope this helps .

Thanks Paul, that worked. The Primary Hard Drive 1 was not defaulted to OFF. Now how do I update my BIOS to version A09?

Hi Ray's Tomato,
Glad to hear you got it fixed . To update your BIOS go here .
Download and double click the "floppy" file . This will create a bootable floppy which will update your BIOS to A09 .
Good Luck
