Monitoring network traffic
What software is available to monitor traffic across our LAN, Win95 peer to peer. I want to see which machines suffer the greatest traffic, is it my print server, mail server or accounts database server, etc.
I know WinNT contains network monitor agent, can this be used or are there other products that can be used.
Thanks
Steve

Hi
Try here http://32bit.bhs.com/list.asp?whicha...=8&category=96 you will have to dig thru the list but there a few utils in there either free or shareware.
Some of the "commercial" software will cost big bucks, but you get what ya pay for

Just a general note to keep in mind.
Heavy system monitoring EAT LOTS OF COMPUTING POWER.
Again, just a general note, you are probably OK but people can get carried away monitoring their systems. It's easy to forget that these background programs can add up to a lot of computing power.

what's the level of monitoring you want?
what's your budget?
There are hardware network monitoring devices that take some load off your software, but a sophisticated monitoring bundle can cost ya a lot.
