Convert Works spreadsheet to Excel?
Hi all,
I've been sent a Works 2001 (.xlr) spreadsheet, and I use OfficeXP (Excel 2002). Is there any way that I can convert the file formats, or otherwise import the data into Excel?

Hi SuperSparks:
Try this:
Open the spreadsheet in Works, File, Save As, File by Type - Excel. Close in Works, open in Excel.

Unfortunately, I don't have Works, though I may be able to get it resent as an .xls file if Works allows the file to be saved in that format.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Yep, that worked beautifully, I got it re-sent as an .xls file and it opened in Excel fine. It's also considerably smaller than the .xlr file, as a matter of interest. I'm very surprised at Microsoft, in that their flagship product can't even open a file from another of their own product range.
Thanks again, Daizy
