Word 97 automatically minimizes when opened

Have closed the program by right-clicking. Have rebooted twice. Have checked the properties for word - runs in normal window. Have tried opening a .doc w/o bringing up windows first - still minimizes upon access. Have never heard of this happening. This is in a windows 98 environment.

... check them again and select "Run Maximized"

I have seen this a few times and have found that it is "normally" easy to resolve.
Start word - and it will minimize to taskbar - then RIGHT click the word icon on the taskbar and choose MAXIMIZE. This should cure your problem.
