Updating IE

I hope someone can help me. I am trying to update Internet explorer from 4.0 to 5.0 or 5.1 when I do this I get an error. (Cannot finish downloading, files are missing from setup, run setup again to replace the missing files). I have tried downloading from the Microsoft's web sight. I tried burning the update on a CD and copying it to the harddrive and I keep getting the same error. Thank you.

Try downloading the file from cnet or another site. Even though they basically all go to MS to get the file anyway, sometimes they can get thru to get a good copy when an individual cannot.

Mac is compatible with mac, Windows has to be comapatible with 1000s of manufacturers. Now taking that into consideration who do you think is better?
