CONNECTION PROBLEM
hi, my conection isn't working since my last Win98 crash (i'm using friend's PC) and i don't know WHY
the problem is that my modem (An internal Creative Modem Blaster) establish the conection and then ....nothing, the lights of the icon on the systray ,that uses to turn on and off ....nothing (well, actually when establish the conection it sends and receives some bytes and then i just got an idle conection)
i upgraded to WinMe, reinstalled the modem and.......nothing
I tried with another ISP count and it's the same problem
the last days i've been playing with the configuration of control panel (by the way i dont't know so much about protocols) and....nothing
i checked the ppplog file and i founded the next suspicious line:
FSA: protocol rejection for CCP (or something like that)
i also checked the file that the modem creates and there are more suspicious lines:
Error control desactivated or unknown
Data compressing desactivated or unknown
so....
1- COULD BE THAT THE PROBLEM?
2- IS POSSIBLE THAT THE MODEM IS THE PROBLEM ? (EVEN WHEN IT CAN ESTABLISH AND KEEPING THE CONECTION)
3- WHAT CAN I DO?
ANY, ANY SUGGESTION IS VERY WELL RECEIVED
help
a friend
