    ssl connection problem

Hello, I am having a ssl connection problem. Every time that i try to go to a secure web sight it says security certificate invalid or expired. Also every time I try to install any new software and register on line it says ssl connection not secure and will not let me register. I have 128 bit encryption and I am using ie 5.5 sp1. I am using windows me. I am considering going back to win 98 if this problem continues. I have already emptied all cookies and temp internet files. I have also tried repairing internet explorer in add/remove programs in the control panel. If anyone can be of assistance i would greatly appreciate it.

Hi, I'm not sure if this will correct your problem or not. In Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options, Advanced tab. Scroll down to the bottom section, "Security". Look at the first two options,"Check for publisher's certificate revocation" and "check for Server's certificate revocation". If they are checked, try unchecking them and see if that helps?

Thank you for responding so quickly, but the problem was just my internal clock once i reset that everything was fine. Was my last resort and it worked of course. But thank you for letting me know that there are help sights out in cyber space that really do help. I will tell everyone about this sight and thank you again for your help.
