Hi,
I think this is the fault of MSCDEX.EXE file. Try to replace your current MSCDEX.EXE with copy of this file from your Win95 CD.
And one more suggestion. If you have access to CDROM drive, copy directory with Win95 *.CAB files to hard drive, then remove Autoexec.bat and Config.sys files from C:\ drive (for example rename them to Autoexec.bak and Config.bak respectively) and then reboot and install Win95 from hard drive.
Good luck, Igor M

I am also having the same problem, I've been having it for a while now. I've bought 2 new hard drives out of money that I had to save up (since I'm only 15) just so I can get windows 9x to install correctly. While the setup starts and scandisk is done checking the hard drives, it gives me a white screen saying that SUWIN.EXE or SETUPX.EXE or USEr.EXE...etc. has crashed and when I click close the setup closes and dos shows 'Bad Fault in MS-DOS Extender
' and then a bunch of numbers, forcing me to restart in order to TRY to install once again. I REALLY need help with this problem, if anyone can also give me an idea of what is wrong I'd gladly appreciate it.
Thanks!
