How can I rewrite my DOS?

Hi there,
I was having trouble with my Windows95("How do I use a bootdisk" post in windows95 discussions),And I (Foolishly)used the windows95 bootdisk to overwrite my DOS with:"SYS C:",
Now I just get"Disk I/O error" at startup.
Any sugestions?

I beleve I need DOS 7

Was reading about your troubles on the 95 forum and it appears that the errors you are getting are due to incorrect BIOS entries for the hard drive, CDROM drive or both. You need to enter the setup program and make some changes. Do you know how to enter the BIOS setup routine? What type of computer is it?
What is the capacity of your hard drive? Do you have one hard drive and one CDROM drive?

This is an early Presario.
I don't think I can access my BIOs(F10 when booting),I get"Bad or somthing else command interperter"message when I try it.
Funny thing is I downloaded a revision on a floppy but it dosen't seen to want to work off it,If I change the hard drive to a formated one I have then it seems to work.

With Compaq, you need the F10 Setup Utility to set up the hard drive. You should have that on the CDROM disk if you have that. Otherwise, you can download it from Compaq's site.

The F10 Setup creates a non-DOS partition on the hard drive which is part of your BIOS. This must be present on the first hard drive for the BIOS to work properly.

That is why the drive already programed works.
