It looks to me like the computer went looking in a directory called DOS4GW for a file called DOS4GW.exe. Do you have a DOS4GW directory? Is the DOS4GW.EXE file in that directrory?
Open your mind, not your computer.

My default installation shows:
C:\PROGRAM FILES\Creative\SBLive\DOSDrv
as the path to the:
DOS4GW EXE 254,556 05-31-94 7:00a
This appears to be DOS mode driver setups. You will probably find commands refering to files in this directory in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. In mine:
SET CTSYN=C:\WINDOWS
C:\PROGRA~1\CREATIVE\SBLIVE\DOSDRV\SBEINIT.COM
loads the driver at boot. There may be a file SBEINIT.INI in the WINDOWS directory. It could have the wrong path listed.
Try putting REM at the beginning of such lines in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. None of this should be necessary to operate in Windows. Until it is set up correctly, DOS programs won't have sound.

At DOS type:
EDIT C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT
Then add the RBOLD ITEMS shown here:
SET BLASTER=A240 I2 D3 H7 P330 T6
REM SET CTSYN=C:\WINDOWS
REM C:\PROGRA~1\CREATIVE\SBLIVE\DOSDRV\SBEINIT.COM
Rem TShoot:
c:\progra~1\creative\sblive\dosdrv\dos4gw.exe
SET QTJava=C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\QTJava.zip
SET CLASSPATH=C:\Program Files\PhotoDeluxe 2.0\AdobeConnectables;%QTJava%;
SET QTJava=C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\QTJava.zip
SET CLASSPATH=C:\Program Files\HEAT\navbar;%CLASSPATH%;%QTJava%;
C:\PROGRA~1\NETWOR~1\MCAFEE~1\SCAN.EXE C:\
@IF ERRORLEVEL 1 PAUSE
SET GRIP=C:\GRAVIS\CORESO~1
SET PATH=%PATH%;C:\GRAVIS\CORESO~1
mode con codepage prepare=((850) C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND\ega.cpi)
mode con codepage select=850
SET PATH=%PATH%;C:\GRAVIS\CORESO~1
Presuming that you are running Windows 95 (as you need that for the DB Live) you could rename the autoexec.bat file as nothing here is necessary to Windows 95. The MCAFEE line is needed to start protection at bootup, but you can run without it.

Just use the REM instructions....
Or you can rename AUTOEXEC.BAT TO AUTOEXEC.BA_ or whatever you want....
But i would suggest you use REMs...

Hi,
If you use EDIT C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT command then after adding the REMs press ALT and select File->Save.
