Aptiva boot problem
I have an Aptiva with Win 3.1 that will not boot. I used a win 98 boot disk to access the C drive and reload win 3.1. but if I try to run 'win' from there I get a OS error. I do not have a win 3.1 boot disk, will this help? Or have I lost my h/d? System hangs with 'insert sys disk' and will not get past the floppy.
thanks
Gary

Howdy
Do you know what Ver. of DOS, is installed on your computer??
You need to get this Ver. boot disk and reboot using this bootable floppy disk.
when you boot with this disk to a rompt
type sys a: c: or sys c: either way it your choice (some prefer sys C
then reboot with out boot disk in drive A:
Hope this helps

Howdy Just in case you can't find a DOS boot disk go here:::
http://www.bootdisk.com
Select the second DOS disk (6.22) one with cdrom support, just in case you ever need to install a cdrom
Hope this helps
