    Mac won't start

Help! My kids have done something to my Performa 6290! It won't turn on... Push the button and you can hear a sound through the speakers (the sound of the power trying to turn on) but that's it. No chime, no nothing. It's doesn't even get to a point where it can access a drive. Can somebody give me an idea to try?

One of your RAM chips may have become loose. You can try and see if they are in firm.

Also, I had a similar problem when a battery went on one of my Macs. This is an easy and cheap fix.

Try resetting the PRAM (Pee -ram). As soon as you turn on the computer hold down these four keys at the same time:
    Command-Option-P-R
It's a little twisty on the fingers but it might help.
