IE 5.5 Favorites Problem!
I used HWMC's answer to another Favorites problem and want to go into the problem in a bit more detail!
I did the: -Use Regedit.exe to change the Favorites value in the key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders" to the path of the common favourites folder, e.g. \\server\favourites
This worked fine for administrative users, and even though I changed the details in the key "HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell
as well, it still doesn't work when I log on as a 'normal' user, even though I've set up the directories I want the Favorites to be put into. They still default to the C:\Winnt\Profiles directory!
Any ideas?
Cheers

The Default user will only work for new users who do not already have a profile on the PC.
If they already have a profile, you will have to edit that registry entry as well.

Thanks for the answer. Unfortunately I tried logging in with a new user profile, added to the Favorites and it still put the entry in the users c:\winnt\profiles\username\favorites area, even though I double-checked to make sure the place I wanted it saved to was ok in the .DEFAULT area.
Any other ideas?
Thanks for your help
