Hi,

My friend has a computer that has nt 4. He uses adobe premire 5.1 to edit video. He has two hard drives, one 200 megs the other 12GB The 200MB is the C: drive, and the 12GB drive is the d: drive. On the 12GB drive there is a file called pagefile.sys (a 4GB file) that can not be deleted. It says that the file is in use. I do not see any programs open that would be using this file. I have tried to use my win98 boot disk (I do not know what boot disks nt has and he did not have one) when I booted with the win98 boot disk, Drive c: was the RAM DRIVE which means that most likely there is a overlay on the computer. Because of this I could not see the c: or d: drive. I tried to format the d: drive in nt and it would not let me because it said that the drive was in use. Also, when I ran fdisk it did not see the d: drive. This maybe because of the overlay. My question is: does anyone know how to get rid delete the pagfile.sys file or format the d: drive, without formatting the c: and getting rid of the overlay, and then formatting the d:?

Thanks,

Kevin
