    Long Story: 98 Bootup Problem

I have a Toshiba Portege 3490CT that had an LCD problem. Shipped it to Toshiba, and they replaced the frigging harddrive to fix it, but I couldn't back up the info.

It was a Win98 machine and they sent it with Win2000. Problem is that it is the Company's President's laptop. I had to use the recovery CD on it to get 98 back on.

First I got an error stating "hard drive may be corrupt..blah blah blah". This occurs about 90% thru the recover.

I reboot and 98 comes up with no problems and I started installing programs. I received an error stating "Not Enough Extedned Memory Available to Run Windows. Wuit One or More Applications ti Increase Available Memory Or Restart Your Computer". This happens right after the WIN98 Splash screen.

How can I find out what is causing this hangup?!?

HELP! I'm going to get fired because Toshiba sucks!!!

    Thanks, but that didn't work. There isn't a RAMDRIVE.SYS in the config.sys.

    Could that be the problem?!?

Did you try entering that line into the config.sys? If that doesn't help you can always take it out. Still looking for another answer...

No, that didn't work either. I may be entering it wrong though. It has something with PANNING.SYS...should I keep that as well?

Also, I renamed the Config.sys to see if it would rewrite it correctly. No go.
