Help installing 1394 Firewire Card
I would like to install a 1394 Firewire card in my new HP P6617c desktop.
Can I purchase any type of 1394 card.
The computer indicates there is space for three PCI Express x1 slots.
I can't seem to find information on purchasing a 1394 card specific to HP desktop computers.
Computer is running Windows 7 64 bit
Thanks

?
The PCI Express x1 FireWire card does not have to be HP brand.
Cheers.

Installing 1394 Firewire Card
Thank you for the information.
I may have purchased the wrong PCI card since it is not labled as PCI Express.
PCI FireWire IEEE 1394 3 + 1 Port Card + 4/6 Pin Cable
When I compare the card I bought with a PCI Express card the tab slots appear to be different

PCI and PCI Express are two different expansion card standards.
You can refer to the following link for additional information.
Cheers.

The HP model you specified does not appear to have any non-PCI Express slots.

Installing 1394 Firewire card
Thanks again.
It's obvious I bought a PCI expansion card and not a PCI Express.
I will need to exchange for the correct type.
