Webpage printing issue

I'm not 100% sure where this issue lays. I don't know if it's a OS issue/fix, or hardware.

The problem that my co-worker has is anytime she prints from a web page there are headers and footer. The biggest is the header cause it print on all the pages some private information on where she has been on the web and she doesn't want that to be seen. What is causing the header to print the same title over and over, even when she not printing from that web site. Please responce ASAP. Thanks!

What web browser is being used? If IE, click FIle, Page Setup, and remove any unwanted items from the header and footer sections.

It is standard behaviour on most, if not all, browsers. Generally if I want to selectively print something I just copy and paste into Word and then print from there. I agree it would be a royal PITA if you had to do that regularly though

I found the issue that I was having and was able to resolved it. It was in I.E. under: File>Print Preview>Page SetUp (icon)>Headers and Footers (was set to custom), but my second question is how was the (CUSTOM) change to that?

The web site that was being printed more than likely has code to change the header and footer info that is printed.

check selected, and only that which is selected is printer.

I would like to see that code. While would MS aloud companies to allow or website to change setting on someone I.E.?

Me personally without sounding insulting thing this is too much to teach my co-workers. We just change the headers and footers to EMPTY (blank).

M$ allows many IE settings to be changed. Examples include window size and placement (the better to allow pop-under ads). And, if there was an ActiveX control or Java applet installed, that could change just about any IE setting as well as settings for Windows and other software. That is how some online virus scanners and viruses work.

A better question is why would a web site designer change your IE print settings (and not change them back after printing was completed).
