Resolved [RESOLVED] locate KB uninstall files/folders

Sometime ago a friend stopped by and suggested I could access more HDD space by eliminating the KB uninstall files. (unfortunately, I didn't consider saving them to a CD for future use). So we did!

Recently, I tried to uninstall a file and found out I couldn't because that particular unistall file was missing. I also forgot what folder in which they were located.

I don't imagine there is a way to delete all KB updates and have MS scan my system and look for missing WindowsXP updates?

Just a guess, but I thought I would ask! Thanks.

Sure - Windows updates will scan for updates not installed/never been installed

Once the files you mentioned are deleted - they're deleted....If you just deleted then in the last few days - a data recovery app "might" help.

What issue are you having that makes you think you need to uninstall a kb?
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

You would ask as to the problem I was having, as I mentioned it was some time back. Guess whatever it was may have been resolved (?), because it no longer seems to be an issue. (I've a pristine image - push to shove - I'll recover that).

BTW, since then I have d/l several updates, but I cannot find the $ntKB**** files/folders. Where are they located?

    Thanks for your time Steve!

    They are in C:\Windows

Did you make sure to show hidden files?

Midknyte; They were in my "image" - and yes, I hadn't removed the tic to show the hidden files & extensions. Getting old! Thanks again!
