Adobe scans blank image
Have Adobe 9.0 pro installed xp.
This is on a priviate network at my job so I must ensure the at one printer/scanner/fax is up and running but I can spare downtime for at least 30minutes which of course is toward the end of the business day (5pm CST).
HP M1522NF is connected to printer (USB) and able to scan from Adobe to this printer.
Attached a 2nd printer, HP M3035xs (USB), and can scan (directly on the printer), copy, and print to this device.
When I attempt to scan from Adobe to the new printer (3035) the output generates a blank image.
I changed Adobe properties to point to the 2nd printer, set Adobe properties to Adobe pdf, unplugged the M1522 printer and still see blank scan image.
When both printer/scanner are connected, both printer/scanner scanner light come on and scans (output) to the older printer/scanner (M1522).
Not sure if I need to uplug the older printer and remove the printer driver then try to scan to the new printer or if I should use a diff scanning tool then covert to PDF. I'm looking for a solution not a work around. I beleive it has to do with the Adobe properties and pointing to the correct output device.
Any ideas or recommendations?

Are both of the HP multifunction devices connected to the same computer? If so, do both scanners use the EXACT SAME HP software? If they do, do they both show as selectable devices in the scanner software?

I use the Adobe software for scanning, not the HP scanning software. Installing the HP software will be a last option. Some Adobe forums indicate the scanning feature in Adobe Pro 8 and higher is problematic (scanning funtion doesn't work) with XP.
Initially the IT department was able to setup the Adobe scanning with the HP on the same box, the problem is they don't recall how is was fixed but they had major issues to get it to work. Any suggestions?

I would not try to set up two multifunction device scanners on the same computer. Why do you need both? I would think they would both produce about the same results. You still need HP drivers to get Windows to see them, and HP's drivers are not the best written ones. More info on exactly what you are trying to accomplish might help us suggest a solution.

Windows cannot support more than one USB scanners simultaneously b/c the way the file usbscan.sys in Windows is designed to work. A lot of times, it just won't work period. Other times, it works intermittently. Yet other times, you get all sorts errors. It's hard to say. Generally, you need to boot the computer with just one scanner turn on. To switch, you'll need to power off the scanner, shutdown computer, turn on the next scanner before powering up the computer again (Having said that, some Kodak scanner drivers are able to make the situation a lot better better, albeit not solving the problem entirely.)
BTW, which Adobe product are you referring to when you say Adobe 9? Photoshop? Acrobat? Acrobat Reader? ??
Also, what do you mean by "HP M1522NF is connected to printer"? How can the M1522NF be connected to [another?] printer?
What do you mean by "[scan] directly on the printer" when you say "HP M3035xs (USB), and can scan (directly on the printer)"? You mean you scan and print (copying)?
Please clarify.

Using parallel you can daisy chain a scanner and printer. But sure is slow compared to usb.
