Video card for a widescreen monitor
Hi,
I've never owned a wide screen monitor. I'm considering a 25" with a resolution of 1920x1080.
When purchasing a new video card, would my concern be (besides memory & other performance issues) the cards resolution capabilities (that it matches or exceeds the monitors resolution)? Or is there something else i need to be concerned about when it comes to widescreens?
Thanks for your help.

Yes, double check the res involved and make sure your power supply is big enough to pull it.
Examples:
GTX 280 -178W
HD4870 -130W
So make sure your power supply is big enough as those examples are just the video card alone.

Thank you, Train. I know it is probably a silly question but I wanted to be sure just the same.
Thanks again,

Just to further put your mind at rest, all recent cards can handle 1920 x 1080, or 1920 x 1200. It's only when you move up to 30" monitors that you need to be careful to make sure the card can handle it.

Thanks Supersparks.
I just wasn't sure if it was just a matter of resolution capabilities, or if there was some "special" component needed to handle a widescreen.
I appreciate you and Train responding.
Thanks again,
