Quicktime Player

I have downloaded Quicktime Player so I can view my videos.
When I try to start it I get the message "Quicktime Player has encountered a problem & needs to close".
I tried to run it from the exe file and same message occurs.
I then tried to locate it under Control Panel Add/Remove Programs but it doesn't show up as being installed.
Is there anything else I need to do to it in order to make it work?

After you downloaded it, did you actually install it?

My suggestion. Uninstall the player and go to this page . Download the latest K-Lite codec package, then dn/load the quicktime alternative(and if you like) the real player alternative. A lot less bloat and probs and more happiness to you...
