Epson scanner not reinstalling?
Well i guess i had a taste of Vista..Epson scanner got mixed with logitech quickcam in scanners and cameras. i have uninstalled the quick cam, logitech, it was being shown as the scanner and i can't get the epson to be shown. i deleted the logitech from device manager,, after it was uninstalled from control panel,, that took it out of the scanner image , now i can't get a driver recognized, to add the epson to scanners ans cameras. there is an unknown usb device in device manager and the scanner will noit appear there. the only thing i may have done is install with the devices connected. i have checked all connections,
the scanner is an epson v200 photo, and was ok till the quick cam install. i downloaded the driver from epson, unzipped it, but it doesn't recognize.
if you can make anything out of this malarkey?????
tks
eg

the only other thing i haven't tried ia a different usb port, other than uninstalling everything again, and having all diaconnected.

Uninstall the Epson in whatever add/remove is called.
Reboot a couple times.
Now double click the WAIN Driver and EPSON Scan Utility v3.12A and install it.
The drivers got corrupted.
Note>
This self-extracting file contains the Epson Perfection V200 Photo EPSON Scan Utility and TWAIN Driver v3.12A for Windows XP, XP 64-bit Edition, 2000 and Vista 32-bit and 64-bit Editions. This file extracts to your hard drive and is placed in a folder that begins with c:\epson\epson12526…

I hope the scanner usb is unplugged from the computer. It tells you when you can plug it in.
Wain - Twain , Yep a Typo
Try shutting the computer down, wait 1 minute, then boot back up. If something is hung up in the ram, that should clear it.

If all else fails, use System Restore to roll back to a point when the scanner was working OK. That usually fixes driver problems.

Disconnect it from the hub and when you do connect it, plug it into the computer and not the hub the first time.

when i had this built a couple years ago i think the guy told me one usb may not function on the front because of the media card reader// why is it the back is shown for hookups and not the front or hubs?

I have no idea. But I know some fronts are only 1.2 and not 2.0 like we would like.
I hooked a extention cable to one of my rear USB ports. Spendy, but it sure helps out.

1.so an extension cable is?? 2. and that gives you more ports at 2.0? 3. if you put a 6 port on the rear?

Yes, you can add a usb 2.0 pci card.
A Example of a 6 port card.
