WINDOWS UPDATES?
If it ain't broke don't fix it?
These came in as optional, leave them go? Do not install,the nvidia has been there before.

Yup, leave then go, always get your updates from the manufacturers website.

I concur. Despite knowing better, just the other week I tried one of those recommended hardware updates for the NIC on my new rig. Needless to say, it left me completely without a network connection at all, and I had to reinstall the driver

yes you should always download your computer updates from the manufacturer.
