    TV Show downloads

How about these sites (i.e. WatchMissedEpisodes.com) that allow viewers to download TV Shows for viewing on the computer? Certainly it requires registration, and perhaps an installation of some type of viewer....

    Opinions?

buetow--What do you want to know? WOT has no rating on the site, so it is not obviously a troublemaker. And the initial site (http://watchmissedepisodes.com/)is not trying to download cookies. I cannot comment about subsequent pages.

The couple of download links I tried at that site gave access to download standard avi files. No problems with that... they can't harbor malware and can be played by any player.

That link in my earlier post should be http://watchmissedepisodes.com/ and as Broni said, WOT gives it a green (safe) rating.

They attach it as part of the file.

Just ripped one out. Had to install m-bam in Safe mode. Only thing I could do.

Is it embedded within the container or inside the media file(s)?

Seemed to be attached to the front end and I think the video itself was corrupted. Going by bwhat In was told.

Did not investigate very closely either. 7 hours to get it cleaned up and running right was long enough!

This is how I see it.
    Two options:
    1. AVI file may have double extension, like:
    somemovie.avi.exe , somemovie.avi.scr , somemovie.avi.vbs
I'm not sure, if it's possible to actually hide one of the extension, but surely some people have their Windows Explorer set to "Hide extension for known file types". Waiting for a disaster to happen.
    2. AVI file may contain viral script, which will be activated by another executable file.

I know for the fact about avi, and mp3 files being infected.
Personally, I don't trust any file (maybe except for txt file). If it's not from my computer, it's gonna be scanned before I touch it.

Could have been double ended. I did not look to check.
