Question Problem exporting Favs into IE 6

I am trying (un-successfully) to import My Favorites into Internet Explorer Version 6.XXXXXX using a program (pretty sure) I downloaded from majorgeeks called
VB Bookmark Wizard., after a HD format on my desktop.
There is a file with a gold star icon saved in My Documents I can locate & open... no problem.

    Problem:

Can someone PLEASE tell me where this gets imported to?
I’ve tried C > Program Files > Internet Explorer and come up with spit that even resembles Favorites.
Yep...I did a search on the C drive, and my Computer and come up with 65 items.

--> At myself…because I have used this before problem free.

Thanks for any suggestions/advice as always!

I've never used a program for this, usually, I just drag and drop the favorites I had saved to that "Favorites" folder on my harddrive. Can't you do this also?

Favorites folder is located under "Documents and Settings" your user name and it should be listed there.

    Happy Halloween everyone!

photolady...Nope, you can't drag & drop with this version (or) program in general.
    I wish..
    Would have eliminated this thread.

SpywareDoc...The best I could come up with this 1/2 way set-up formatted 'puter is:
    C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\PLUGINS\Favorites.html

Think that would do the trick?

What is your username on this system? If it's "Steve" for example, click Start | Run, type in:
    "C:\Documents and Settings\Steve\Favorites"
(including the quotes) and press [Enter] (or click OK). Windows Explorer (My Computer) should then open up in your "C:\Documents and Settings\Steve\Favorites" folder.

(Note: I'm assuming you're running XP).

Got a floppy drive? If so,stick a disk in and open/minimize it. Go to>My Computer/C:\/Documents and settings/your user name. Favs will be in folder with 'star' icon. Open this folder. On the 'Edit' menu select all. Right click one highlighted item and choose 'copy' from the menu. Maximize the floppy window. In any empty space right click and choose 'paste'. Take the floppy disk to the machine you want the favs in and do the reverse. Also, by using a floppy, they won't be 'read only' in properties as they would using an optical disk.

If you no longer use floppy drives? Oh well...
    Stupid question? No such thing!

I don't understand why you can't just drag and drop them. I saved mine to CD and dragged them and dropped them into my Favorites folder, numerous times with no problems. I didn't use a program.

steve_83--photolady's idea is the simplest once you find the Favorites folder. And you do not need that program.
Another way is to open the old Favorites folder, click File|Import and Export. Follow directions (Export Favorites) and you will create a file called bookmarks.htm. You now can copy that file to removable media (floppy, CD, etc.), take the media to another PC and use the IE File|Export and Import procedure again. This time you will chose Import Favorites.
The only advantage this procedure has is that the bookmarks.htm file on removable media is easily transported and can be used to access your Favorites on any PC. No installation needed. While you will have no icons, the links are active.

Smile [Resolved] Thank Heaven for this place!

Once I found the right folder.....just like many have said: It was a piece of Drag & Drop Cake.

I don't know why I can't figure out the simplest of tasks.
The results of a mis-spent youth I guess.

    Thanks Very Much everyone!

Now...Back to helping gnat buddy on the update forum.
The only thing I can contribute here.

    God Bless you guys!
