    sitemeter.com trojan

Got this bugger from visitng the sitemeter.com blog page trying to find out about their recent problem with IEX.

    http://virusinfo.prevx.com/pxparall....=12fa109109827

It came in a shockwave ad apparently.

Good example of why a software firewall is necessary. NOD32 caught (it said) the trojan as I entered the site and I chose to terminate the connection (recommended). Half an hour later my firewall, Comodo, caught it trying to send out data. If I'd been relying soley on the a/v I'd have thought it was caught and eliminated. Not so.

Also a good demonstration on a reason for making frequent disk images. Went back to a three day old clean image with Acronis.

But first I gave Malwarbytes scanner a chance to prove it's stuff. worked perfectly... see log. But I restored the image anyway just to be be double sure nothing was missed.
