ad-awarese personal problem - Virtual Dr Forums-Computer Tech Support

i am having a problem with ad-aware se personal .it scan really good but want to delete the cookies etc etc then i check all the box then i click the delete button but the blue bar with all the blue stripe do not move it stay the way it is .before the blue bar was moving to the right and every thing was deleted .but it do not work any more .so i uninstall it and install it back but it still the same .now i have 3 critical and 3 cookies of some kind .so do you know what is my problem .or do you know of a good program to replace it .let me know please .

Reinstall AVG.

thank you broni i did that 3 time now and it still dont work .it scan good but i cant not quarantine any thing .you that progress bar well it stay there it dont move at all .do delete the blue bar as to go really fast from the left to the right .but nothing hapen .i have been using it for the last 2 to 4 years and this is my fisrt time that i have a problem with it .so last nite i uninstall it .i downloaded spyware terminator .avg anti spyware .i did a scan with avg anti spyware and it found 1 cretical object and 49 medium cookies so i thing they did a good job for me .now this morniing the avg antispyware icon in the start bar is black so i just dont know any more .i was using it for 2 years long time ago and this why i quit using it because every day that icon was black so i just stop using it .it should be good for 30 free version .

yvesj--AdAware SE 1.06 is way out of date. Unless you are updating the Definition files manually, AdAwareSE's ability to detect recent spyware is close to zero.
Uninstall AA SE and install AdAware 2007. It still comes in a Free version.

thank you.i just did downloaded 2007 version but i have trying to install it since 4 months but every time i try i get this error.
[EXCEPTION EACCESSVIOLATION IN MODULE AD-WARE 2007.EXE AT 001DD5EA READ OF ADDRESS 00000 414.SO THIS IS WHAT I GET SINCE I BEEN TRYING TO USE IT .DO YOU WHAT IS WRONG .i dont

Did you totally uninstall Adaware SE?

yes i did it with add-remove and i uninstalled from there .but i will go back and check .right now i am using spyware terminator to replace it .is that good .they say it the third best ???

thank you broni yes ad-adware se is uninstalled.all i have left of it is the set up icon in one of my folder .i still have malwarebytes installed but not higjack this .last nite i downloaded avg antispyware .but now my computer look slower is it possible that i have to many of then .[anti virus ] anti spywares ]so on .i will change my signature and you take a look at it

yvesj--If you still have problems with pieces of AdAwareSE remaining, then reinstall AdAwareSE and follow these instructions

Now download AdAware 2007 again (just to be sure you did not have a corrupt installation file), turn off your antivirus program and install. Turn your antivirus program back on.

thank i did go to my computer and i did delete lavasof .now cant i delete all the stuff that i dont need from c/drive in my computer ?????because there is a lot the program there that i dont use any more .let me know .as for ad-aware se personnal i thing i will keep spyware teminator it look really good to me and easy to work with .what do you thing .i also uninstalled avg anti spyware 7.5 that program never work good the icon is black 95 %of the time so you never know if it still working or not .

You can uninstall ANY program, you don't use.

thank you broni .i will .now cant you tell what anti virus i have in my signature.so i could try to install ad-aware se again .because am not to sure wish one are anti virus .then i try what welshjim said .

AVG 7.5 is your antispyware program.
You don't want to reinstall Ad-aware SE. You want to get current free version, Ad-aware 2007: http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-200...-10045910.html

i just did download it and it still no go .i get the same error posted in post 5 .i have been trying to download and install that version 7 since it came out and i never could do it .so that is it for me with lavasoft .i all ready spend about 3 in all with 2007 version .and it no go
