Hello, Big Virus/Malware/Trojan Problem, Please help!
Hello, I haven't been on this website in quite a while.
I've recently been experiencing some troubles with my computer... I used various antivirus programs, and spybot s+d to get rid of some of the viruses/malware/trojans on here, but most definitely not all of them. I'm looking to see if I could possibly get some help. Here are my issues.
1. I constantly have a little bubble at the left hand corner of my screen popping up and saying :
"Windows Antivirus.(in the header, continuing with) Windows has detected spyware infection! It is recomended to use special antispyware tools to prevent data loss. Windows will now download and install the most up-to-date antispyware for you Click here to protect your computer from spyware!"
and when I click it, a program called 'UltimateDefender' pops up and trys to install itself.
2. I have an alert box that constantly pops up and says
"Windows Security Alert(again in the header, and continues with,) Warning! Potential Spyware Operation! Your computer is making unauthorized copies of your system and Internet files. Run full scan now to pervent [yes, spelled incorrectly] any unathorised [yes, once again spelled incorrectly] access to your files! Click here to download spyware remover."
When I click yes on this box, Firefox opens up and opens up a website trying to sell me avssystem care.
Both of these problems are quite annoying. I am willing to be as co-operative as possible to remove these, as they are quite annoying. Anyone that oculd help would have my undying gratitude.
Thank you already!
Bill

Here are specific instructions on removing ultimatedefender..
http://www.pchell.com/support/ultimatedefender.shtml
But if that's a little difficult (and I'd do this anyway), have a look through this thread...
http://discussions.virtualdr.com/sho...d.php?t=167915
and do all of the things it suggests then copy the Hijackthis log into this thread and then we'll move it to the Hijack forum where one of our experts can have a look at it and advise further.
Pls make sure that hijackthis is installed into it's own permanent folder.. eg- C:/program files/hijackthis
