Moving the Menu Bar on IE7

Is there anyway to move the Menu Bar for IE7 so that it is on top of the web address window? I used to be able to move it with IE6 but so far I haven't figured out a way to move it with IE7. I would like to have File, Edit, View, Favorites ect above the web address window. Right now the Menu Bar is directly below the web address window.

That reg hack worked like a champ. I don't know about you guys but I prefer the Menu Bar at the top of my page. Here is a screenshot of my webpage now.

Glad things worked out for you.

Guess I'll have to mess with 7 before long.

And, if you're used to the Google Toolbar, you can then also drag it up onto the top row:

You shouldn't have to do a registry edit to move the Menu Bar in IE7. I guess before too long Microsoft will provide a patch that will give you more flexibilty with the Menu Bar. I am beginning to like IE7. It reminds me a lot of Firefox. SpywareDr am I correct in assuming that you did the registry edit too for the Menu Bar?

Easy to use for those who don't like to mess with the registry.

    IE7 Menu Move

"This simple registry change puts the menu bar in IE7 on top, where it should be."

    Smile Re:Menu Bar

Hello All, to move the menu bar and most others, just do the same as Internet Explorer 6.
Right click on an open part, Remove the tick from Lock the toolbars.
Move the Menu bar to where you want, and any other that can be moved, then go back and lock the toolbar.

No Registry hacks, just nearly the same as I.E.6

Gep, I don't think your way will work. I used to do it with IE6 all the time. I was unable to do it with IE7 the way I used to do it with IE6. I had to do the registry edit. Anybody else been able to move the Menu Bar without doing the registry hack?

Interesting, I fooled with mine for a long time and was unable to get it to move up to the top. My toolbars weren't locked either.

Gep, compare the two side-by-side. Yours is on the left and mine on the right:

The one on the right has the Menu Bar ("File Edit View Favorites Tools Help") all the way at the top, (directly under the Title Bar), and the Back Forward buttons plus the Address Bar are on the second row. The one on the left has these two rows reversed, (Menu Bar on the second row).

Here is my toolbar after the Registry Edit. My Menu Bar is now on the top like SpywareDr's. Mine looked like gep's before the registry edit. I definitely could not drag my Menu Bar to the top of the page.

The registry hack worked for me as well. How did MS overlook this?!
