I have a BIG problem
Please excuse me if I have the wrong forum for this problem.
My DVD burner is not reading any DVD's. Had burned a DVD data disk, checked it and everything was fine. Put another disk in to get another file and it did not read and left a circular scratch on the disk. Tried other disks that were not important and nothing is being read. Also tried some old program disks to see if they would come up. nothing.
I have heard a noise when I place the disk into the tower.
All suggestions are appreciated. The DVD/CD burner is about 6 months old.

it did not read and left a circular scratch on the disk.
That scratch was caused when the disk was not placed properly in the slot.
If it was mine, I'd buy a replacement.
I use this model.

Problem Solved
I do not think it had anything to do with the disk being improperly placed in the slot, there is only one way to place it. And this occurred on several other disks as well. Just did not want to read my disks. After a morning of throughly going thru the program files, I found what the problem was and it is now working great!
Thanks for your response and suggestion.

Roxio conflict. Had to uninstall both Nero and Roxio, run a cleaning tool on both and reinstall Nero.h
