MS-Word Clipboard stopped displaying some characters
Hi, I use MS-Word 2002 and for some reason the Clipboard stopped displaying some symbols correctly, such as arrows, some geometric shapes. Instead, it shows a little square. It works ok in the sense that if you click on these squares, the correct character is pasted. But once you have many of these squares in the Clipboard, there is no way to tell which one is which. I use arrows as a symbol a lot in my documents, and Clipboard was a nice solution to avoid going to 'Insert', then 'Symbols', the look for the symbol I want to use (upward arrow, for example) each time I wanted to type one. But now Clipboard instead of showing these symbols, it shows these little empty squares, which is very annoying. Anyone the can help me remedy this? Thanks a lot!!!!!

I don't know the exact solution to your problem but it is being caused by the default clipboard font not having that font data (It's a font problem). If it worked before, you could try reinstalling Word.
If you want a workaround, you can use the ALT+ combinations. I use a lot of © and ü. (Hold alt while pressing 0,1,5,9 to get the copyright circle). The codes for arrows (at least in Arial) are 2190-2193. To get the code for different fonts you can use character map, in start>programs>accessories>system tools>
