network printer problem
hi all,i have 2 dell comps that are both running xp home.
1 is wired to a 4 port netgear router wgt624 802.11g, the other is connected wirelessly to the same netgear router using a netgear card.
the wired comp has a lexmark printer connected to it, no printer server and the printer works fine.
the network functions fine,i can access shared files on each comp and have wireless internet access on one and the other one has wired access.
i can ping both comps no problem.they both show up in network properties.
the problem that is driving me crazy is i can print from the wired comp to the lexmark printer no problem but i cant from the wireless one.no add on firewalls,no virus software YET, and i have shut down microsoft firewall.i am logged on as system administrator on both comps.
i have installed the drivers on the wireless one but when i go to add network printer and browse for printer, the only thing that shows up is"client for microsoft network".
i have double clicked this and nothing happens.i checked printer names on both comps, they are the same.
i have changed printer names and still nothing.
i have made sure both comps have different names and made sure workgroup name was the same, ssid is fine in router properties.i have excellent signal strenth, but as i said earlier all other funtions of the network are fine.
sorry for the long post, but i wanted to be thorough and avoid answers for things i have already done.
thanks for any info in advance
