Need help with stop error
I have recently had two occurances of the same stop error:
STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xEEE852B7, 0xED27C93C, 0x00000000)
SYMEVENT.SYS - Address EEE885287 base at EEE7A000, DateStamp 4272844C
Event viewer gives me substantialy the same iinfo. Researching, I find I have two sysevent.sys files, one in C:\Program Files\ Symantec and one in C:\windows\System32\Drivers. The files are identical in size and both are dated 5/13/05
Can anyone lead me in the right direction to stop the stops?
Thanks, George
GHW

Stop 0x8E is nearly always caused by hardware incompatibility problems, or sometimes drivers. Have you changed any hardware or drivers lately?
Nick.

Stop Error
Thanks for responding; there was a Symantec updae on May 13, which may be the culprit.
